Jim is head of the Chester office of Chambers O’Neill. After aspell as an Oxford academic and seven years running his own business, Jim retrained as a lawyer in the early 1990s and has concentrated on employment law since 1995. He advises a very wide range of clients and has particular expertise in manufacturing, healthcare, haulage and logistics, retail, higher education and professional services. A highly experienced and tenacious advocate, Jim appears in the Employment Tribunals throughout the UK. Jim has been described in previous editions of the Legal 500 as having ‘a wealth of experience and knowledge of employment law’, a “fearless advocate” and as “highly regarded“.
Andrew is head of the Manchester office of Chambers O’Neill. Whilst he has a broad range of clients, his specialism includes employers in the facilities management, aviation, construction, IT, financial services and retail sectors including some household names from the North West. In view of his expertise Andrew has also been instructed by individuals in connection with tribunal claims, disciplinary procedures and settlement agreements and has acted for many senior high profile figures in the North West and nationally in respect of termination strategies and compromise agreements. Andrew is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and the Law Society. Previous editions of the the Legal 500 have commended Andrew, including for having a “mammoth knowledge of the law“, his “practical approach” and “articulate and courteous”.
